Go Green And Have A Positive Effect
There is no getting away from the discussion about being Eco friendly.
Did you know The Empire State Building is doing a major sustainability retrofit in order to become one of the leading examples of economic and environmental revitalization. A quick note if you’re touring the ESB, be sure to visit the Zalman Silber Skyride.
The subject of green living is becoming bigger an bigger everyday, with people all over the TV, radio and newspapers talking about going green and the benefits it will have on our planet. Of course you need to ask yourself, is it really that important.
Our planet will benefit greatly if people decide to start living a greener life. Emissions from vehicles are destroying the ozone layer and there are vast landfill sites full to the brim with discarded rubbish that cannot disintegrate. With the carbon dioxide levels on our planet growing everyday, which is causing the depletion of our ozone layer, soon our planet will be uninhabitable. Because of the constant rise in temperature of the earth, soon all the animals and people will be living in a hostile environment. More and more people simply discard products and storage containers which could be utilized again and again, instead they throw these products into our trash dumps. Because of advancing technology, cans, bottles and paper shall no longer be the only things that can be recycled, soon pretty much everything will be able to be recycled. If everybody were to begin recycling anything that can be recycled, we would greatly reduce the amount of air pollution we produce.
The following reason is to help save animals which are dying out. Due to our greed, and because we are reducing the rain forests every year, we are killing off more and more species of animals that would normally thrive without our interference. Once these animals are extinct we cant bring them back. As said above we can now recycle, so we don’t need to cut down as many trees and some companies are now planting two trees for every tree they use. However it can take an extremely long amount of time for these saplings to mature, it is almost a day late dollar short kind of thing, but at least people are making an effort. Again, recycling and reusing materials can help reduce the need for cutting down more trees which will help save animals.
Another thing people can do is to start using more organic products. Organic products are much better for our health and our planet. Many individuals start their green living lifestyles by consuming more organically grown foods. Non-organic crops are sprayed with pesticides and insecticides, and chemical fertilizer is added to the soil to increase yield and profit for the farmers. All of these added chemicals aren’t good for us and could cause illness, so its best to stay away from them. By eating organic foods you are consuming only the food, and your not ingesting all the chemical substances which have been soaked up by the foods. Even though organic and natural food is priced somewhat higher as compared to typical foods, the health advantage far out weighs the cost.
Going for a Eco-friendly lifestyle is one thing that I really feel everyone in the world ought to be doing, not only for our overall health but also in order to help decrease the destruction of our ozone layer as well as air pollution. Needless to say it’s not necessary to start off big, you can begin simply by growing your own organic and natural produce.
